We at ALTERANTE, Inc., (“we” or the “Company”) respect user privacy and value the relationship we have with our users.
AlteranteTM needs to collect some personally identifiable information from you, solely to operate the Service as described in the “How We Use Your User Information” section below. We do not sell any information to any third party, including advertisers or spammers. We will only share the information we collect from you as described in the section below entitled “When We Share Your Information.”
To access your files remotely, you must input on Mobile Application your Alterante username and password, which you created on
your Desktop Application during Setup process. This login information passes through our servers, but is not stored
permanently in our servers. The users and passwords are stored in encrypted form in your own computer, and used by the
Desktop Application to authenticate incoming mobile login connections.
We highly encourage using strong passwords, of length 16 or longer, using combination of numbers, upper/lowercase letters, and special characters.
The Company will only use User Information solely for the following purposes:
• Your IP address: To enable you to use our Service (access your remote files on your mobile device via the Internet)
• Your email: To provide technical support and to respond to your inquiries and product feedback
• Your email: To communicate new build releases, new features, or new promotions
We will only share your information under the following circumstances:
• As Required by Law: We may disclose any User Information we deem necessary, in our sole discretion, to comply with any
applicable law, regulation, legal process or governmental request.
• To Prevent Harm or Loss: We may disclose User Information when we believe, in our sole discretion, disclosure is necessary or appropriate to prevent physical harm or financial loss or in connection with suspected or actual illegal activity.
We maintain administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect the User Information that we collect against accidental, unlawful or unauthorized destruction, loss, alteration, access, disclosure or use. While we cannot guarantee that no accidental, unlawful or unauthorized destruction, loss, alteration, access, disclosure or use of your information will occur, we will try to prevent such occurrences.
To provide a continuous, fault-tolerant and non-stop service, the Company reserves the right to utilize servers in datacenters located in different jurisdictions. We may transfer User Information we collect about you to our databases outside your country of residence. Even if the laws in the country to which the information is transferred do not require us to provide adequate protection for your data, we will nevertheless seek to ensure that information transferred to such country is adequately protected.
Remote File access is an optional service, which is disabled by default and needs to be explicitly activated on
Desktop Application. If you only wish to access your files from your Mobile devices within your own private network (e.g. WIFI
network at home or office), Service is NOT required.
You may stop the Remote File Service from using and collecting User Information at any time by doing any of the following:
(i) disabling the Remote Access feature on your Desktop Application (located in the Settings/Network panel)
(ii) completely uninstalling the Desktop Application on your computer.
