We at ALTERANTE, Inc., (“we” or the “Company”) respect user privacy and value the relationship we have with our users.

AlteranteTM needs to collect some personally identifiable information from you, solely to operate the Service as described in the “How We Use Your User Information” section below. We do not sell any information to any third party, including advertisers or spammers. This Privacy Policy is designed to show you what information about you we collect through the Alterante software application running on your personal computer (the “Desktop Application”), the related mobile device software application (the “Mobile Application”) and the Alterante backend servers running at alterante.com for the Remote File Access service (together with the Desktop Application and the Mobile Application, the “Service”), and how we use and share any information that is collected.

Important Note: Remote File access is an optional service feature. This feature is disabled by default and needs to be explicitly activated on Desktop Application. If you only wish to access your files from Mobile devices when both devices are connected to the same private network (e.g. your WIFI network at home or office), then Remote File Service is NOT required.

Our Service allows you to remotely access the files on your computer from any remote location on the Internet (outside your computer network) using an authenticated mobile device (e.g. your tablet, smartphone). When you use the Service, we need to collect some information ("User Information") in order to establish a secure connection between your mobile device on the Internet and the Desktop Application that running on your remote PC. The information collected includes:

When using Remote Access, we also need to collect your mobile device's unique identifier and Mobile device IP address (“Mobile Information”). The Mobile Information is required in order to establish a secure, authenticated connection between your mobile device and your remote computer that is running the Desktop Application.

When you use the Remote Access, your file data flows through the computer memory (RAM) in our servers, but is never collected or stored to disk. In order to protect the privacy and confidentiality of your data while in transit through the Internet, a secure HTTPS/SSL connection is established between the device endpoint (your mobile device, your PC) and our servers. HTTPS/SSL is a proven technology that secures most transactions over the Internet, including most banking and e-commerce transactions.

Our website may also collect your Email address. Your email is optionally submitted by you during registration, or when you request support.
